After a decade long conflict had taken more than 6000 lives, one Southeast Asian government sought new solutions to control the rebel insurgency. Leveraging our expertise in lighter-than-air operations, an airship was selected to provide situational awareness and better coordinate assets. Over the years the airship’s real-time imagery and enhanced communications has proven to increase the Army’s hold on the region, helping ensure the safety of security professionals and the civilians that they serve.

A tropical paradise by day, this Caribbean island’s beaches were being used at night as clandestine drop locations for drugs by organized crime, so leaders sought a reliable and cost effective solution for drug interdiction. The nation’s special anti-crime unit selected a ‘Sky Dragon’ to help ensure border security because of its quiet operation, on-scene duration, and payload flexibility. Our team quickly sited and constructed a hangar, coordinated logistics, and trained crews for operations and support to effectively combat the local scourge.

U.S. soldiers overseas have a world of potential threats beyond their perimeter. In these remote, hostile environments Tactical Aerostats were selected to enter and fulfill our client’s rapid readiness requirements. The ability to quickly and easily elevate observational equipment provides soldiers 360° early warning threat detection, which has proven highly effective in areas where 24/7 situational awareness can mean the difference between repelling an ambush, or falling victim to it.

A custom solution for cost-effective border surveillance, with the ability to monitor cross-border activities, was required for a national customer dealing with a difficult and provocative neighbor that had become a matter of national security. A custom aerostat solution was delivered to provide the full intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities of a larger strategic system, with a smaller footprint and rapid relocation capability. Operators also required severe environmental survivability, adjustable mission payloads, and a self-sustained and fully integrated ground control system (GCS).
The system was engineered to accommodate extended and remote observation, severe environmental survivability offering security to an exasperated nation.

Oil pipelines stretching hundreds of miles across rugged terrain require constant observation, and effectively and efficiently monitoring the system over these distances presents unique challenges. Our client selected a Sky Dragon airship to speed operations and introduce more cost effective monitoring and coordination of ground operations. In its infrastructure security role, the airship covers more ground with less manpower, and features long endurance and slow loiter capability.
